We’re proud to have supported the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) in developing its new climate action plan for tourism, which launched at the Caribbean Tourism Organisation’s State of the Tourism Industry Conference at the end of September.
The plan is a major milestone for climate action in the Caribbean, setting a clear direction for how the region can adapt to and tackle the impacts of climate change on its tourism industry.
Tourism is a critical driver of the economy across the Caribbean, but is also vulnerable to climate-related shocks. This plan will help countries across the region build greater resilience, safeguard communities, and chart a more sustainable future for tourism.
We worked closely with the OECS and regional stakeholders to co-create the plan, bringing our global expertise on climate action in tourism to support a framework that reflects local priorities and realities.
